This is an excellent condition set of HONMA PP-117 Staff Model forged blade irons 3-10 (PW) SW (10 clubs) with DGS400 Stiff steel shafts. The clubs have Lamkin Crossline velvet grips in very good condition. The clubs are 0.5 inches longer than standard – the 5 iron measures 38.5 inches. Note: the 6 iron has at some stage been re-shafted with a DGS300 shaft compared with the original S400 series. Performance has not changed but the steps in the shaft are slightly differently spaced.
This set has had careful use and shows minor normal marking of the faces and of the soles. All grooves are crisp and well defined and there are no abnormal impact marks on any of the heads. These clubs a great find for a lover of classic top shelf golf clubs. Best estimates are that this set is 20 years old.
